Sustainable Gold Mining, Tokenising the Amazonian Basin, Waste Recycling, Coral Reefs Sanctuaries as well as Sustainable Fashion and Cinema are the highlights of the ESG Summit 2024 in Dubai and Cannes.
Sustainability and Finance
THe ESG Summit 2024 by G.P.I. Global Partners Investments Limited commenced on the 14th of May, 2024 at the Ritz Carlton DIFC Dubai International Financial Center with the opening remarks by the Summit’s Chairman Mr. Gustavo Montero the Chairman of Carter Capital and the Programme Director of the Rio Summit aka Earth Summit or the first COP by the Brundtland Commission after Gro Brundtland the former Prime Minister of Norway commissioned by the United Nation’s WCED World Commission on Environment and Development, which also authored the foundational book on sustainability; “Our Common Future”.
The summit was presented and moderated by Ms. Alexandra Busheva the IP Licencing and Global Tour Production Expert and the MC and Agenda Director of the ESG Summit 2024.
The opening remarks were followed by the United Nations’ Global Ambassador of the University for Peace; H.E. Zulfiquar Ghadiyali the Executive Director of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon Al Nahyan Office; the High Patron of the ESG Summit 2024 on SDG Sustainable Development Goals and why they should be in the business plan of any business.
An orientation keynote and orientation presentation on Sustainable Business by Ahmed Refaie the host of the ESG Summit 2024 and CEO and Global CIO of G.P.I. Global Partners Investments Limited tackled some of the provocative issues on sustainable businesses and notes on practices and behaviours. He also acknowledged the London Business Forum for their inspiring work, in addition to the CFA Institute Research and Policy Centre on some of their Research Briefs and Reports on ESG, Sustainability, and Islamic Finance, as well as the Global ESG Disclosure Standards.
The summit then continued with the highlighting remarks on ESG Environmental, Social, and Governance Issues by the Chairman of the United Arab Emirates Financial Markets Association; Mr. Mohamed Al Hashemi, followed by the ACI Financial Markets Association Director Mr. Rui Correia on the Markets Regulations Social and Governance Code of Conduct.
Ms. Ana Lima Barber the CEO of B International Partners FZE the General Partner to the ESG Summit 2024, and MENA Region’s Delegate of the Lusophone Countries Business Confederation and former Commissioner General of Cape Verde to the EXPO 2020 DUBAI UAE, and former Chairwoman and CEO of Cape Verde Trade Invest Authority. Delivered the Blue Economy Presentation shedding the lights on the vast potential and business and investment opportunities in the Blue Economy across the entire African Continent.
Mr. David Gibson-Moore the president of Gulf Analytica and Chairman of Dalma Capital linked COP28 with the ESG Summit through his presentation; “Climate Finance and where do we go from here” pressing on the dire situation our planet is facing. His presentation was followed by Mrs. Elena Schildgen the president of Rotary Club Cosmopolitan of Dubai and Managing Partner at Meyer-Reumann and Partners highlighting the Rotary’s key contributions and achievements on the UN’s SDG Goals.
Real World Business Cases; Gold Mining, Tokenising the Amazon, and Waste Recycling
The summit continued with showcasing real world businesses, investment opportunities, and initiatives on environmental sustainability and social integration.
3RT Smart Gold Holdings Inc. represented by their Managing Director Mr. George Chedid, demonstrated their smart and sustainable gold mining business and how tokenising gold reserves without the need to extract the reserves from the ground is providing real world assets investment opportunities with regards to the environment preservation.
Presented by Mr. Sam Evan. Verde Whisper, an ambitious project aiming at saving the amazonian basin through tokenisation, blending web3 and blockchain technology with an environmental cause. Followed by BANTgo the leading waste management and recycling rewarding app was demonstrated by its co-founder Mr. Sergie Ivanov.
Once again, H.E. Zulfiquar Ghadiyali was invited to the stage to present the Green Wave Funding project which aims at financing sustainability through Green Bonds which complimented his former welcoming keynote and presentation on SDG.
Ecosystem Players, Carbon Credits, and the Climate Crisis
Mr. Faisal Zaidi, the Cofounder of The Green Block and Steering Committee Member and CMO at Crypto Oasis the initiator of the Green Block initiative, presented the Green Block the Web3 and AI Sustainability Ecosystem and its Web3 and AI in Sustainability Report which serves as a directory of the companies, institutions, and governments involved in sustainability globally. Also, Mr. Keven Holiday the Managing Director of C3 Companies Creating Change the tech sustainability accelerator focusing on tech startups in the MENA region which works on satisfying the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals took the stage to walk the audience through their achievements with some prominent and notable startups within the ecosystem backed by some of the globally leading banks and financial institutions.
Ms. Baiba Broka the Governing Council Member of the UNDROIT The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, and Former Minister of Justice of Latvia showcased the UNIDROIT’s findings and consultative publishing on Carbon Credits Regulations.
The ESG Summit 2024 Executive Lunch sponsored by Marco Polo Experience Magazine sealed the first day with the artworks displayed by Opera Art Gallery DIFC along the sides to the dining venue; Cara.
Environmental and Social Philanthropy
The ESG Summit also shed the lights on Project Zero the initiative project rejuvenating the ocean through funding coral reef sanctuaries and campaigning for preserving the ocean with the support of some of the international celebrities such as the singer Rita Ora, footballer Chris Smalling, actor Will Poulter, model and singer Pixie Geldof, actress Cara Delevingne, model Kate Moss, musician Roonie Wood, actress Poppy Delevingne, musician Bernard Fowler, and actor Ty Wood. The project is supported by Babs Labs and their Websh3 globally roaming event on diversity and inclusivity, and hosted and promoted by G.P.I. Global Partners Investments Limited at the ESG Summit 2024, and is set to be the main theme project of the upcoming Climate Summit 2024.
Ahmed Refaie the host of the ESG Summit and CEO of G.P.I. Art & Hope’s project; Between Heaven & Earth by Ms. Carla Cid De Diego the CEO of Art & Hope and the Zenith Art & Fashion the daughter of the Spanish sculptor Cid De Diego the Son of Salvadore Dale’s lawyer, who is on a world tour started in April, 2024 with the first exclusive private dinner at Teatro Real in Madrid and is to be followed by 4 subsequent dinners in 4 cities in the fall of 2024. Planned for the tour are La Fenice in Venice, Kravis Center in Palm Beach, Met Opera in New York, and Dubai Opera. The unforgettable journey in 5 cities, 5 opera houses, featuring 5 artists and 5 Michelin Star chefs is for the benefit of the Columbus Children’s Foundation where the proceeds of the journey will fund the treatment of children with very rare diseases.

On the 15th of May. On the same night of May the 18th in Dubai the closing VIP cocktail Soiree’ of the ESG Summit 2024 for The Institute of Advance Studies and Cooperation hosted by Ms. Patrizia Marin, the President of Marco Polo Experience Magazine commemorated the ESG Summit 2024 journey and sealed the experience at its finest.
